The accordionist, born 1957 in Vienna, completed his studies in Vienna and Warsaw (at the Chopin academy). This CD is a representative cross section of his work and includes rare versions of pieces by Urbanner, Krenek, Piazolla and Rodrigo. Melichars accordion is accompanied by Alfred Hertel (oboe), Michael Mitterlehner (vibraphone, glockenspiel), Thomas Poezlberger (viola), Peter Rohrsdorfer (alto-sax) and Anton Schacherhofer (double bass).
