The Orpheus Trio Wien was founded in 1990. Besides the famous pieces of the Vienna classical period its repertoire also includes rarely performed trios. A further focus is on the great compositions of the 20th century (i.e. Schoenberg, Berg, Webern) and on music by contemporary composers. Recently the Orpheus Trio played first performances of young Austrian composers (Karlheinz Essl and Horst Ebenhoeh).
